• Health and wellness tourism continues to grow at an astounding rate in 2007, showing growth of 25%, reaching Bt45.8 billion in current value terms. 
• The Thai government has included health and medical tourism as one of the top three marketing tools to promote tourism to Thailand resulting in a concerted effort to turn Thailand into the Health Tourism Hub of Asia. 
• Spa facilities in hotels show highest growth compared to other types of health and tourism subsectors, reaching Bt8.4 billion and a growth of 38% 
• Medical tourism accounts for 73% of total health and wellness tourism and continues to enjoy double-digit growth over the review period.
