Employment, one of the main sources of concern during times of crisis, is the focus of the OECD’s new FAQ web service. According to the OECD’s latest projections, the OECD-area unemployment rate is projected to continue rising through 2010, approaching close to 10 percent. In order to keep people updated on employment trends, the OECD has launched a Frequently Asked Questions page about the impact of the crisis on employment. Among the many questions raised are “how much will unemployment rise in the coming months?”, “what should governments do?”, and “which group of people is most likely to be affected?”

We also recommend taking a look at the key employment statistics page, which allows cross-country comparisons on labor market indicators, outcomes, policies and institutions.
