Despite the current economic uncertainty, this year’s performance of Interbrand’s Top 10 Global Brands remained relatively stable, with Coca-Cola Co. in the first slot, a position it has held since the rankings were launched in 2000, followed by IBM and Microsoft in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Clothing chain Zara was among this year’s top gainers as it saw its value jump 14 percent to $6.8bn.

Interbrand ranks companies by the amount of their revenue attributable to their brands, using a formula that takes into account the brand’s future strength and its role in creating demand, whether among consumers, business customers or both.
